Unlike the majority of the population, I’m not really a summer sort of guy. I’m not that keen on light nights and hot weather is definitely not for me! Although many people are looking forward to the warmer weather and the summer vacations, for me the best time of the year has sadly come to an end. You might think I am weird, but my favourite months of the year are from September to December. Before you make a hasty judgment, let me explain. […]
Today is the first day of Spring, the Spring Equinox; one of the two days of the year when the Earth’s equator directly faces the Sun giving us almost exactly the same amount of day and night, and we are exactly a quarter of the way along our journey round the Sun. More practically, what it means to me, is that I have 39 folk songs left to arrange, record and release until this project is complete!
Check out our second issue of Down the Rabbit Hole’ that has an exclusive interview with Lisbon, album reviews of the Tom McKenzie and Nonkeen albums and many other articles. Mad Alice Records produces a […]
I’ve never been brave enough to throw myself out of a plane being eventually suspended under a piece of light material, or even run around the streets, through the countryside or through mud with distances that I can hardly walk let alone run. Despite this I am keen to complete a marathon of some description in order to raise some money for charity. Well after much thought I have decided that on Wednesday 10th August, I am going to attempt a 12 hour live radio street on Wilson Waffling Radio. Want to know more? then please read on…
Whenever you start a new venture one thing which really motivates you is the support that your friends, colleagues and members of the community provide. Without this support, any venture probably would never get as far as it does and some might actually flounder due to lack of support. One question which I get asked a lot is how you can support the station so I thought I would write a quick blog post with some idea, one of which you might be able to engage with. It goes without saying, on behalf of everyone who contributes to the station, we really appreciate your support in any form – so, here’s a big THANK YOU!!!
Stealing the famous quote from Martin Luther-King I would like you all to know that I have this dream. It’s not a big dream or even one which encompasses world peace. It is in fact quite a small dream and one which, when compared to Martin Luther-King’s quote, I feel quite inadequate actually quoting him. When I started along my journey in Radio Land I knew that I wanted to present but I also had another aim in mind. With the station becoming more established this aim has rose to the surface and, during the last week, I have been working hard to start to make the dream become a reality – what is it that dream? I want you to become part of the team!
It seems a while since I have written a blog post about my continuing journey in setting up a radio station plus I was looking at the Radio Station’s Webpage this morning, and noticed that it was a while since the blog post had changed on the front page. Hopefully, if the plugin is doing its job correctly, then you should be able to see the previous blog posts in this series at the bottom of this page. We have talked about the concept, software, music and butts – with the latter referring to the encoder and even included some information about planning and scheduling shows. In part three I’m going to talk about marketing, promotion and interaction – and give some exciting news as well!
I’m trying to rotate the content of the blog posts are on this page. Recently we have had some related to gaming and some personal ones so I thought it was probably time to write about the continuing adventure into Radio Land. This also coincides with the webpage for Wilson Waffling Radio coming into existence so it somehow seemed appropriate. So headphones on, finger on that mic button counting down to the end of the song…3….2….1…..
