In this week’s Waffling Show we do the British thing and talk about the weather, decide whether or not I would get ‘I spy’ points for spotting the new plastic five pund note and see how many objects we can compare the new iphone 7 wireless earbuds to. In the segment – “This is mine, what’s yours?” I asked what is your animal, and don’t make fun of how I pronounce my favourite animal. We also enjoyed music from john Newman, Steps, The Supremes and KC and the sunshine band.

We play Pure Imagination to acknowledge the sad passing of Gene Wilder and feature two new musicals to the show – Sweet Charity and South Pacific. We have the musical theatre news and the usual lyrics and guess the musical quizzes.
Since children were heading back to school when this show was live, it seemed appropriate to waffle on about schools – including first days and my own memories. In the segment – “This is mine, what’s yours?” I asked what is your favrouite cake – loads of good responses. We also enjoyed music from Five, Kelly Clarkson, Dolly Parton and McFly.
In this week’s cultured chat we have an update about the Juno probe, learn about a small predator called the Microleo and learn about a a DoDo giveaway! We have songs from Tina Turner, Mr Mister and Atomic Kitten along with song requests for tune by The Carpenters and Paul Simon. There is, of course, the usual anagram game and riddle for those of you who would like to exercise your brain cells.
I’ve been trying to introduce a couple of new songs from musicals every week as well as changing the overall format of the show so you get more music and less of me waffling. These week we have songs from Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Wicked and Annie with songs from two new musicals to show, Funny Girl and Fiddler on the Roof. My competition with Great British Bake Off continues as I broadcast at the same time – its a bit like David and Goliath, just without the sling and small stones! In this show the Waffling Topic is Picnic and we ask – what is your favourite sandwich filling. We look the invasion of the YellowJackets – I’m sure they were in The Hunger Games – and what to do if you find a venomous spider in your bananas. Music includes songs from the Village People, Kylie Minogue, One Direction and Britney Spears – definitely a dancing sort of show! We also look at the both the recent gaming and film news and play ‘Guess the Theme tune’.
This week’s cultured chat includes why we should give some love to the humble snail, a new species of dolphin is discovered from a fossil and, after talking about the oldest vertebrate in the world, we find out that the oldest organism is actually 2,400 years old. Music includes songs from Phil Collins, Christina Perri and Mika and your brain’s get challenged with the anagram and riddle quizzes.
So I have got a trial version of some new software to see if I can improve the sound quality of the shows. There was a bit of a shaky start since it all disconnected but I soon got it sorted the show appeared to go without a hitch. What do you think of the quality? Really trying to avoid the changes in volume between songs. In this Musical Show we have songs from Oklahoma, Godspell and the King and I. We listen to a couple of songs from Ghost, including one by Collabro and chat about the musical Wonderland. There is also the lyrics quiz and guess the musical. Why not come and have a sing-a-long.
Well, I had no chance! This week the Waffling Show went out at the same time as the first episode of the new Great British Bake Off series #GBBO! After an ingenious marketing campaign I managed to get some people to listen – don’t worry, no money exchanged hands! In this week’s show we waffled about the Great British Bake Off, Pokemon Burgers how a young seal managed to escape certain death from a group of Killer Whales! Music included songs from Bonnie Tyler, Alphabeat, Duran Duran and Europe and we had another theme tune in the ‘Guess the Theme tune’ quiz.
