Welcome to my first ever show with a guest on! Planet Waffle can only be described as a show which is a confusion between Desert Island Discs and Room 101. Guests communicate with me on Planet Waffle via Skype and let me know their favourite songs which they think should be played on Planet Waffle. As well as their songs, I also ask them about which items they would bring if they were successful in being accepted onto the planet as well as some ‘unrehearsed’ questions. There is, of course, also plenty of waffling – it is amazing how much you can find out about a person when you ask the right questions. In this show, the guest and future Planet Waffle inhabitant is Peter Raymond, undergraduate subject director for the primary education course at York St John University.
In this week’s Waffling Show – the student who wasn’t allowed to build a cat flap so went one better, how to spend a night in Dracula’s Castle and when winter officially starts. In the segment – “This is mine, what’s yours?” I asked what is your favourite cold drink. Music from KC and the sunshine band, Louis Armstrong, Linda Lewis and Martha and the Muffins.
In this week’s Waffling Show – do children inherit their intelligence from their fathers, the possibility of getting food poisoning from bean sprouts and how my conker career ended aburptly. In the segment – “This is mine, what’s yours?” I asked what is your favourite pizza topping. Music from Kelly Clarkson, LuLu, Mika and The Electric Light Orchestra.
